A single-target imbue follows the selected hero path and the item's eligibility rules. Charge items apply automatically to eligible abilities; global upgrades use All abilities. An upgrade should not inherit an obsolete single-ability label.
Choose the hero path before the ability target
Seven's Lightning Ball caster, Power Surge hybrid and Storm Cloud channel are different plans. A duration purchase aimed at the first plan can have a different target from the same purchase in the hybrid. The correct label depends on what the build is trying to achieve.
The hero guides show ability names alongside their slot numbers. Use both when reviewing a purchase: a bare number is easy to misread, particularly when switching heroes. If a patch changes an ability's eligibility, the live planner's review gate takes precedence over a dated example.
Upgrades can change the scope
Mystic Expansion and Duration Extender use an eligible single ability in the reviewed catalog. Greater Expansion and Superior Duration affect eligible abilities globally. Their upgraded label is All abilities, rather than the component's old target.
Extra Charge and Rapid Recharge work automatically with eligible charge-based abilities. There is no manual target to invent. The presence of an ability icon or a spirit stat does not prove that every ability qualifies.
Eligibility overrides a tempting combination
Echo Shard cannot reset an ultimate. For a support Dynamo, an eligible Quantum Entanglement reset can be useful, but the item is not a second Singularity. A support profile must not assign the ultimate simply because that is its main ability.
Mystic Reverb needs an eligible enemy-damage application. Pocket's Affliction and Victor's self-damage cast are excluded in the reviewed rules. Total duration or a large displayed damage number does not establish a valid proc target.
Review the target after every change
When switching a path, regenerate the plan and read each ability label again. When upgrading an imbue item, check whether the scope becomes global or automatic. When importing a historical build, retain its date and review it against current definitions.
These checks concern mechanics and coherence. They do not prove that a particular target has the highest win rate. DeadlockStrat keeps that statistical question separate from whether the purchase and ability interaction are valid.

Evidence and review
These are tactical explanations of the Build 6839 reference, reviewed 1 November 2026. They are not match-statistical rankings. Item mechanics can change: the planner verifies current definitions separately and blocks automatic recommendations when the reviewed mechanics no longer match.
