Historical patch guide

Deadlock Patch Guide: March 6–21, 2026

A practical guide to the March 6 gameplay update and its March follow-ups: movement, objectives, economy, and selected hero and item changes to retest.

Patch date: . Guide reviewed 2026-11-03. Historical changes can be superseded; use current definitions for a match today.

How this guide was prepared: AI-assisted analysis with a separate source-check pass against archived official notes. Practical decisions are reasoned suggestions, not player-tested results or measured win-rate evidence. A small hotfix receives a short guide rather than a reconstructed full build.

Original update sources

Recorded topics: Gameplay, Heroes, Items, Fixes. Dates refer to the update named in the notes; a mirrored post can be published later.

Retest movement and objective rules by patch date

What changed: March 6 allowed jumping during a slide and added a brief dash-jump air-control bonus. The first Shrine became easier to kill and the second harder: HP changes to 5,000/10,000 after the first dies. Middle Lane troopers upgrade when either Shrine falls, and killing a pair of base guardians spawns a boosted trooper wave. On March 10, Base Guardian HP fell to 4,000 and zipline capture positions changed.

How to adapt: Test slide-jumps and dash-jumps separately, then verify each objective rule in the version you are reviewing. Keep the Shrine HP transition and Middle Lane upgrade scope distinct, and use the March 10 values and zipline rules rather than March 6 assumptions for that later build.

Compare objective rewards and survivability in the right build

What changed: March 6 raised bounty for Guardians, Walkers, Base Guardians, Shrines and Mid Boss; it also increased Mid Boss base HP and gave it 35% Debuff Resistance. On March 10, super troopers received 15% less bounty. March 21 changed the Vitality investment bonus back to percentage-based base-health scaling and increased hero health growth.

How to adapt: Record the patch date when comparing objective rewards or durability, and check the relevant values for that build. The notes do not establish that one objective is always preferable, and March 6 values alone do not describe the later bounty and health changes.

Retest Mirage’s Traveler as an interruptible teleport

What changed: The March 6 Traveler no longer channels: it has a three-second delay, and taking damage interrupts it and puts it on cooldown for six seconds. March 21 reduced the wait to two seconds and the interrupt cooldown to four seconds, allowed manual cancellation, and removed interruption by non-hero sources and damage-over-time. It can also target units as well as locations.

How to adapt: Test the delay, target selection and interrupt conditions in the exact build being reviewed. Hero damage still matters to the March 6 version; the later notes only exempt non-hero sources and damage-over-time, so do not treat the later version as wholly uninterruptible.

Check Paradox’s exact Time Wall and Swap upgrade version

What changed: March 6 removed Time Wall damage to enemies passing through it and gave allied bullets 100% more speed and +30% Weapon Damage. March 7 changed the wall upgrades: T1 gained duration, while T2 gained silence and no longer increased duration. Swap changed from 10% current-health damage to fixed damage on March 7; its T3 later dealt 10% max-health damage and could alt-cast to swap only one target. March 10 made Pulse Grenade deal half damage to objectives.

How to adapt: Check the date and upgrade tier before testing Time Wall or Swap: the notes describe successive changes, and the T3 Swap effects are not the base ability. Test Pulse Grenade against objectives separately, since its objective damage is explicitly reduced.

Verify Vortex Web casting and Golden Goose Egg timing

What changed: Vortex Web gained unit-target vacuuming in the March 6 notes; March 10 specified that unit targeting only occurs with alt-cast. Golden Goose Egg was added as a T1 Spirit Item. March 7 raised its souls-per-minute value from 75 to 90; March 10 changed the soul-trigger interval from every 200 souls to every 150; March 21 added a two-second hatch channel.

How to adapt: Test Vortex Web’s normal cast and alt-cast separately. For Golden Goose Egg, check both the interval and channel requirement in the build being reviewed; the notes do not support a recommended purchase sequence or an optimal build.
