Historical patch guide

Deadlock Historical Guide — December 16, 2025

Movement, health investment, objectives, and several hero kits change. Recheck route timing, survivability, and reward tradeoffs against the revised values.

Patch date: . Guide reviewed 2026-11-03. Historical changes can be superseded; use current definitions for a match today.

How this guide was prepared: AI-assisted analysis with a separate source-check pass against archived official notes. Practical decisions are reasoned suggestions, not player-tested results or measured win-rate evidence. A small hotfix receives a short guide rather than a reconstructed full build.

Original update sources

Recorded topics: Heroes, Items, Gameplay, Fixes. Dates refer to the update named in the notes; a mirrored post can be published later.

Movement: retest routes and escapes

What changed: Move-speed bonuses now stack diminishingly. Base move speed drops by 0.1 except for heroes below 6.5, and move-speed Spirit scaling drops by 40%. Sprint ramp rate falls from 0.75/sec to 0.6/sec, base sprint speed falls by 0.4, and acceleration starts above +2.5 rather than only after +3. Numerous movement and sprint item values also fall. Enduring Speed and Fleetfoot lose some slow resistance; Majestic Leap’s cooldown rises from 34s to 45s and its barrier scaling per boon falls from 10 to 8.

How to adapt: Retest your usual routes and disengage timing with your actual item combination, especially if you rely on stacked move-speed bonuses or sprint ramping; the notes do not quantify the combined result for a particular build.

Health, resistance, and damage checks

What changed: Bonus Health on Weapon and Spirit items falls by about 25. Vitality investment bonuses change from percentages of base health to fixed amounts. Colossus loses 300 bonus health but gains +15% Base Health. Siphon Bullets’ cooldown increases from 0.8s to 1.2s. Tankbuster changes from a percentage of maximum health to a percentage of current health, with its damage value increasing from 5% to 7.5%.

How to adapt: Recheck survivability after health-item purchases and compare it with the fixed Vitality-tree amounts rather than assuming the old percentage scaling; if you use Tankbuster, test its damage at different target health levels because its basis is now current health.

Objective rewards, troopers, and neutrals

What changed: Trooper bounty falls by 12%, while Shrines rise from 3000 to 7000 health; destroying both enemy Shrines strengthens your troopers by 30% health and damage. Urn bounty rises from 700 + 230/min to 1300 + 230/min, and its carrier gains more resist and bonus bounty. Solo and duo kill bounties rise. Neutrals have 20% less health, but their health growth increases from 0.5%/min to 2.1%, meaning less health before about 15 minutes and more afterward. Unsecured-soul claim time now varies with the souls remaining and bounty growth. Medic Troopers gain health, damage against troopers, attack range, and stronger healing support for allied troopers. Jump Pad hits during the specified window now deal 15% max-health damage.

How to adapt: Compare lane, Urn, and camp choices using the revised rewards and timing; check the unsecured-soul examples for the size of haul you expect, since their durations differ substantially. Account for the Urn carrier’s increased resist and bounty when judging a contest, and test Shrine and Medic Trooper effects in the relevant push rather than assuming a universally best rotation.

Hero adjustments: check affected thresholds

What changed: Mirage loses move speed and bullet damage per boon; Djinn’s Mark maximum range falls from 45m to 40m, and Traveler’s cooldown rises. Shiv’s Bloodletting deferred damage falls from 30% to 25%, while its T2 value rises from 10% to 15%; Rage buildup and Killing Blow range fall. Wraith loses bullet damage per boon and Project Mind T2 Spirit scaling. Billy and Dynamo lose health regeneration. Lady Geist’s listed stamina dash distance moves to bucket 3 (slower); her Malice self-damage rises from 7% to 9%, and the Essence Bomb self-damage scaling value changes from 1.6 to 1.8.

How to adapt: If you play an affected hero, retest the specific range, damage, sustain, or ability-level threshold you rely on; in particular, do not carry over Mirage’s old mark reach or Shiv’s old Killing Blow distance. Lady Geist’s two self-damage changes warrant checking the relevant casts, while the notes do not establish broader matchup outcomes.
