Historical patch guide

Deadlock Historical Guide — October 24, 2025

Jump-pad hits can stun during launch and slow after landing. The October 24, 2025 update also changes item timers, defenses and selected hero abilities.

Patch date: . Guide reviewed 2026-11-03. Historical changes can be superseded; use current definitions for a match today.

How this guide was prepared: AI-assisted analysis with a separate source-check pass against archived official notes. Practical decisions are reasoned suggestions, not player-tested results or measured win-rate evidence. A small hotfix receives a short guide rather than a reconstructed full build.

Original update sources

Recorded topics: Heroes, Gameplay. Dates refer to the update named in the notes; a mirrored post can be published later.

Jump-pad damage and launch control

What changed: Damage during the initial 0.6-second window after using a Jump Pad now stuns the user. While stunned, they lose control but continue toward the landing destination. The stun wears off 0.2 seconds after landing, then a 30% slow applies for 2 seconds. Damage over time does not trigger the stun.

How to adapt: On contested routes, test whether damage during the launch window disrupts your follow-up; the notes say the stun does not stop travel to the destination and is not triggered by damage over time.

Item stats and cooldowns

What changed: Capacitor's fire rate falls from 8% to 5% and its cooldown rises from 40s to 60s. Guardian Ward's cooldown rises from 40s to 45s, Reactive Barrier's from 24s to 26s, and Divine Barrier's from 40s to 45s. Spirit Shielding and Weapon Shielding barriers fall from 325 to 300, while each barrier boon scaling rises from 4 to 5. Warp Stone bullet resist falls from 40% to 35%.

How to adapt: If these items are part of your setup, test their changed timings and values in the situations where you use them; the notes do not establish their overall value or the effect at a particular boon level.

Ability changes and interactions

What changed: Calico's Gloom Bombs cooldown rises from 10s to 12s; base damage falls from 55 to 45 and spirit scaling from 0.74 to 0.64, while the multi-bomb damage ratio rises from 50% to 65%. Ava no longer replenishes stamina on use. Silence Wave's cooldown rises from 30s to 35s, including its component. Spirit Snatch duration falls from 14s to 10s and bonus damage from 75 to 50. Ethereal Shift's cooldown rises from 20s to 45s and phase movement speed falls from 4m to 3m; it can no longer target an ethereal-shifted ally with effects such as Rescue Beam or Viscous Cube. Curse's cooldown falls from 50s to 45s.

How to adapt: Test Calico's single- and multi-bomb damage separately because the listed damage and scaling decrease while the multi-bomb ratio increases; check stamina after Ava as well. For the other abilities, reassess timing and ally-target interactions where you rely on them.

Hero damage, upgrades, and utility

What changed: Drifter's base bullet damage rises from 20.9 to 21.3 and bullet damage growth from 0.52 to 0.56, while his isolated-kill bonus falls from 5% to 4%. Doorman's bullet damage growth per boon falls from 1.15 to 1.0 and outgoing headshot damage multiplier is reduced by 25%; Call Bell explosion spirit scaling rises from 1.5 to 1.7. Dynamo's Quantum Entanglement fire rate rises from +25% to +30%, and Rejuvenating Aurora cooldown falls from 48s to 45s. Infernus's bullet damage growth per boon falls from 0.12 to 0.08; Flame Dash T2 falls from +35 to +30, Afterburn T1 changes from -25% to -20% Spirit Damage, and Afterburn T3 falls from +28 DPS to +26. Kelvin's base regen falls from 2 to 1, headshot reduction changes from -20% to -25%, and Frozen Shelter cooldown rises from 150s to 170s. McGinnis's Medicinal Specter gains a 1-second linger. Paradox's base bullet damage falls from 6.48 to 6.15 and Paradoxical Swap cooldown rises from 70s to 75s.

How to adapt: Test the specific affected action or upgrade in your usual setup before adjusting broader plans—for example, compare Doorman's headshots separately from Call Bell. These value changes alone do not establish matchup results or a best build.

Remaining hero and item changes

What changed: Shiv's alt-fire knockback falls by 10%. Victor's Pain Battery T1 and T2 swap; Aura of Suffering's max damage falls from 80 to 70 and its T2 changes from +10/50 to +8/40. Vyper's Screwjab Dagger spirit scaling rises from 0.65/0.33 to 0.8/0.4. Warden's base bullet damage rises from 15 to 16.2 and Binding Word range from 19m to 20m. Mystic Shot base damage falls from 55 to 45 while spirit scaling rises from 0.65 to 0.75. Fortitude's damage-taken duration to regen falls from 14s to 13s. Trophy Collector's Souls per Minute rises from 25 to 30. Rusted Barrel bonus health rises from 60 to 70. Majestic Leap cooldown rises from 28s to 32s.

How to adapt: If you use these heroes or items, verify the changed action, upgrade, or stat in your setup; the notes do not establish the resulting overall damage, survivability, or item preference.
