Historical patch guide

Deadlock Historical Guide — June 27, 2024

The June 27, 2024 update changes objective rewards, statue drops, powerups, items and heroes. Review routes, item effects and ability timing.

Patch date: . Guide reviewed 2026-11-03. Historical changes can be superseded; use current definitions for a match today.

How this guide was prepared: AI-assisted analysis with a separate source-check pass against archived official notes. Practical decisions are reasoned suggestions, not player-tested results or measured win-rate evidence. A small hotfix receives a short guide rather than a reconstructed full build.

Original update sources

Recorded topics: Heroes, Items, Gameplay, Fixes. Dates refer to the update named in the notes; a mirrored post can be published later.

Recheck objective rewards and map timing

What changed: The Flex slot now comes from killing all Walkers rather than the Patron. Urns spawn on both sides of the map, with each bounty reduced by 40%. The Rejuvenator now reduces players' next respawn time by 75% instead of setting it to three seconds. Breakables first spawn at three minutes rather than two, and their souls scale from 30% below the prior base at the start to 15% above it after 30 minutes. Map powerups start spawning at 10 minutes, with six marked locations and further spawns every five minutes according to the notes.

How to adapt: Test routes against the two Urn locations and the changed Walker reward, and check the minimap when powerups are indicated as available. Reassess breakable detours at different match times; these values alone do not establish the best route.

Distinguish statue bonuses from timed powerups

What changed: Golden Statues no longer drop timed powerups; they now drop small permanent bonuses that stack and do not decay with time or death. Listed bonuses are +2 Spirit, +1.5% Fire Rate, +3% Ammo, +15 Max HP, +0.5% Cooldown Reduction, and +2% Weapon Damage; Max HP has slightly higher drop odds. Timed map powerups also change: Movement lasts 50 seconds, Fire Rate lasts 45 seconds and grants +18% Fire Rate, Regeneration lasts 45 seconds, and Stamina lasts 120 seconds. Cooldown and Clip powerups are unchanged.

How to adapt: When deciding whether to contest a statue, account for a possible lasting gain without assuming which bonus will drop. Separately test whether the longer duration of relevant map powerups changes your route or use timing.

Retest selected item effects

What changed: Reactive Barrier's Spirit Shield Health falls from +500 to +200, and it now grants +400 Bullet Shield Health. Heroic Aura now grants +16% Bullet Lifesteal, no longer grants a 10% Fire Rate aura, and its active grants +20% Fire Rate instead of Bullet Lifesteal. Active Reload's click window increases from 0.2 to 0.3 seconds; active Bullet Lifesteal rises from 30% to 40%, duration from 6 to 8 seconds, and Weapon Damage from 8% to 10%. Withering Whip's ammo increases from 15% to 20%, and it now grants +4 Spirit.

How to adapt: Test Reactive Barrier against the damage types you need to mitigate rather than relying on its former Spirit Shield value. Evaluate Heroic Aura's passive and active effects separately, and verify Active Reload's timing in play; the changes do not establish a universally better purchase.

Test selected hero changes at the stated levels

What changed: Dynamo can no longer cast Quantum Entanglement while rooted or movement-silenced; Rejuvenating Aurora T3 falls from +5% to +4%. McGinnis's Mini Turret deploy time falls from two seconds to one, gains minimap visibility, and has bullet falloff from 20m to 35m, with damage reduced by up to 30% at 35m. Spectral Wall height increases by 2m and its slow duration rises from 2 to 2.5 seconds. Paradox's base movement speed falls from 7 to 6.5; Kinetic Carbine's maximum stop duration falls from 0.75 to 0.5 seconds, its buff duration from 6 to 4 seconds, and Paradoxical Swap range from 35m to 30m. Carbine T1 increases the maximum stop-duration bonus from 0.5 to 0.75 seconds, while T2 also adds 2 seconds to the buff. Seven loses base +15% Spirit Resistance, gains base +20% Bullet Resistance, and has base health regeneration reduced from 2 to 1; Static Charge T1's cooldown improvement increases from 15 to 20 seconds.

How to adapt: Test McGinnis turret damage at different distances and confirm its minimap marker. Check Paradox's revised range and duration values, while separating Seven's base defensive changes from its Static Charge T1 improvement. Verify Vindicta's movement and zoom in play before adjusting your positioning.
