Historical patch guide

Deadlock Urn Rework Guide — June 4, 2026

The June 4 rework replaces melee urn-flipping with a capture point, changes runner rewards and comeback bonuses, and moves the drop-off location.

Patch date: . Guide reviewed 2026-11-03. Historical changes can be superseded; use current definitions for a match today.

How this guide was prepared: AI-assisted analysis with a separate source-check pass against archived official notes. Practical decisions are reasoned suggestions, not player-tested results or measured win-rate evidence. A small hotfix receives a short guide rather than a reconstructed full build.

Original update sources

Recorded topics: Gameplay, Fixes. Dates refer to the update named in the notes; a mirrored post can be published later.

Control the capture circle

What changed: Delivering the urn starts a king-of-the-hill-style capture point instead of melee flipping. Both teams can progress at the same time, but the urn is fully claimed only when one team is the only team in the circle. Progress takes 6, 12, or 18 seconds for favored, neutral, or unfavored status; adding allies does not increase the rate. The progress radius is 20m.

How to adapt: Contest by trying to clear the opposing team from the circle, not by relying on melee flips. Since extra allies do not speed progress, consider committing them for control only when that is worth their time elsewhere. The notes do not explain how simultaneous progress resolves or how favored status is determined, so test those details in play.

Account for the runner reward and bounty change

What changed: The runner now receives the usual 35% bonus bounty and stats on initial deposit, rather than only on deposit conclusion if their team won. Overall urn bounty is reduced by 20%, with no reduction for the trailing team. The allowed run time before the runner takes damage increases by 10 seconds.

How to adapt: As runner, note that the bonus bounty and stats are awarded at initial deposit rather than waiting for the deposit conclusion. Compare the changed overall payout before committing to a run: it is reduced for teams other than the trailing team. The extra time before damage may allow more time to carry, but the notes do not identify a safer route.

Use the revised comeback bonuses

What changed: The trailing team’s sprint speed bonus increases from +4m to +5m. Urn comeback resistance adds +35% Debuff Resistance to the existing 35% Bullet and Spirit Resistance. Its aura radius shrinks from 60m to 20m, matching the progress radius.

How to adapt: If your team is trailing, consider whether the added sprint bonus helps it reach the objective, and keep in mind that the resistance aura now has a 20m radius. Test how that range affects your team’s approach; the notes do not specify interactions with individual abilities or other resistance sources.

Note the timeout and new drop-off location

What changed: If the urn has been in progress for over 75 seconds, it gives up and throws all souls into the sky as long-floating orbs. The drop-off location moves from below the bridges to above them on the side lanes.

How to adapt: For a prolonged contest, watch for the stated 75-second timeout and the resulting orbs. On a run, check the new above-bridge drop-off position before choosing an approach; the notes do not specify routes or where individual orbs land.
