Historical patch guide

Deadlock Historical Guide — June 6, 2024

Review the June 6, 2024 changes to Rejuvenator effects, neutral rewards, powerups, items and heroes, with practical checks for routes and ability timing.

Patch date: . Guide reviewed 2026-11-03. Historical changes can be superseded; use current definitions for a match today.

How this guide was prepared: AI-assisted analysis with a separate source-check pass against archived official notes. Practical decisions are reasoned suggestions, not player-tested results or measured win-rate evidence. A small hotfix receives a short guide rather than a reconstructed full build.

Original update sources

Recorded topics: Heroes, Items, Gameplay, Fixes, Interface. Dates refer to the update named in the notes; a mirrored post can be published later.

Reassess Rejuvenator fights and pushes

What changed: Rejuvenator duration fell from 4 to 3 minutes, its ammo bonus was removed, and it now gives candle troopers double health for 3 minutes. The Mid Boss can only be damaged by enemies inside the bottom pit, and claim time fell from 2.5 to 1.5 seconds.

How to adapt: Test how the shorter claim window affects your team’s contest timing, and assess the resulting push around the trooper-health effect; the notes do not establish which team benefits or whether contests become easier.

Recheck neutral, vault, and powerup routes

What changed: Strong neutrals lost 20% of their health and soul bounty, and four strong corner camps became medium camps. Vault souls rose from 260 to 300. Regular destructibles now roll only for souls and Golden Statues only for buffs; their post-initial respawn time increased from 120 to 180 seconds, and the Mid Boss area has fewer destructibles. Several powerup values and durations also changed, including longer Movement Speed and Fire Rate powerup durations, with reduced movement speed, fire rate, and other bonuses.

How to adapt: Compare routes and powerup priorities under the new camp placement and rewards, and check whether your plan depends on frequent destructible respawns; the notes provide no income or travel-time comparison proving a best route.

Review item effects and timing

What changed: Reactive Barrier’s cooldown fell from 35 to 25 seconds. Metal Skin’s duration fell from 4 to 3 seconds while its cooldown rose from 25 to 30 seconds. Curse no longer prevents stamina use; it now prevents item use, and its duration fell from 3.75 to 3.5 seconds. Decay now deals 2.4% of current rather than 2.2% of maximum health and is non-lethal. Healbane moved to Vitality and gained 50 health; Refresher no longer has a cast time.

How to adapt: Check Reactive Barrier and Metal Skin timing against the threats you face, and use Curse with enemy item use in mind rather than as stamina denial; retest Decay and Healbane builds without assuming these changes ensure a favorable fight.

Retest hero ability choices and sequencing

What changed: Haze’s Bullet Dance cooldown fell from 160 to 130 seconds, with T2 changed to -40 seconds cooldown and T3 to +1 target hit per shot. Kelvin and McGinnis can dismiss Frozen Shelter and Spectral Wall early; Pocket can interrupt Barrage by casting another ability. Vindicta’s Flight cooldown rose from 35 to 50 seconds and its upgrade tiers changed; Assassinate now ramps total damage from 50% to 100% over one second of being zoomed. Warden’s base ammo rose from 14 to 16. Other changes include Abrams and Dynamo base health growth reductions, Bebop’s Hyper Beam slow affecting stamina dashes, and Infernus’s Flame Dash cooldown increasing from 30 to 38 seconds.

How to adapt: Retest upgrade choices and ability sequencing for affected heroes instead of relying on old timings; try the new dismissal and interruption options, and verify Vindicta’s zoom timing in practice rather than assuming a particular advantage.
