Historical patch guide

Deadlock Patch Guide — January 19, 2025

All heroes’ base gun damage and growth fall 10%, alongside hero ability and item adjustments. Account for the global change when testing listed gun-stat changes.

Patch date: . Guide reviewed 2026-11-03. Historical changes can be superseded; use current definitions for a match today.

How this guide was prepared: AI-assisted analysis with a separate source-check pass against archived official notes. Practical decisions are reasoned suggestions, not player-tested results or measured win-rate evidence. A small hotfix receives a short guide rather than a reconstructed full build.

Original update sources

Recorded topics: Heroes, Fixes. Dates refer to the update named in the notes; a mirrored post can be published later.

Gun damage and weapon stats

What changed: All heroes’ base gun damage and growth fall by 10%. The listed hero-specific gun changes precede that global reduction: Calico’s bullet damage and Holliday’s bullet-damage growth increase; Shiv’s and Vyper’s bullet damage and Yamato’s bullet-damage growth decrease. Vindicta’s bullet velocity also decreases.

How to adapt: When testing the listed hero gun changes, account for the separate global reduction and compare actual results rather than inferring a net change from only one listed value.

Ability damage, scaling and upgrades

What changed: Bebop’s Hook T1 and Exploding Uppercut T2 weapon-damage bonuses, Sticky Bomb damage, and its T2 bonus decrease. Calico’s Leaping Slash radius and T2 damage increase; Ava destroys breakables it runs through, and its T2 movement-speed bonus increases. Holliday’s Powder Keg T2 bonus decreases; Crackshot damage decreases while spirit scaling and T2 damage increase. Mirage’s Fire Scarabs maximum-health steal decreases while its spirit scaling increases. Shiv’s Slice and Dice base and T2 damage decrease while its spirit scaling increases. Sinclair’s Vexing Bolt base damage decreases; Spectral Assistant cooldown increases and duration decreases.

How to adapt: Test abilities at the upgrade levels you use, especially where base damage and scaling move in different directions; these changes alone do not establish an overall strength ranking.

Mobility, control and survivability

What changed: Kelvin’s health increases. Vindicta’s movement speed and bullet velocity decrease. Vyper’s movement speed and Lethal Venom maximum damage decrease, as do Slither T3’s spirit and bullet resist bonuses while sliding. Wraith’s Card Trick spirit scaling and summon rate from non-heroes decrease, while its cooldown increases. Telekinesis’ silence and disarm duration increase, its cast delay decreases, and its up/down motion lasts longer and moves slightly higher. Rabbit Hex’s movement-speed bonus increases; it cannot be applied to Unstoppable and triggers Reactive Barrier. Sinclair drops the Urn when teleporting.

How to adapt: Retest the affected movement and control interactions in relevant situations; for Rabbit Hex, account for the explicit Unstoppable restriction and Reactive Barrier interaction.

Holliday and Shiv timing changes

What changed: Crackshot now triggers on units, with half cooldown when triggered that way. Its T3 also has a -2s change on creeps, though the note does not identify the affected statistic. Spirit Lasso T2’s duration bonus increases. Fixes address Crackshot applying Slowing Hex’s anti-teleport debuff, a Debuff Reducer interaction with Rabbit, and a Bounce Pad height issue that sometimes prevented damage to heroes on Holliday’s lasso. Shiv’s Bloodletting deferred-damage duration decreases and its cooldown increases.

How to adapt: If using Crackshot on units or its T3 against creeps, test those cases separately because the notes do not clarify what the creep-specific -2s modifies; also check the stated Lasso-related fix in its described situation.

Item adjustments

What changed: Extra Stamina’s fire-rate bonus decreases. Alchemical Fire’s effectiveness against non-heroes and weapon-damage bonus in its radius decrease. Hunter’s Aura’s bullet-resist reduction becomes smaller while its fire-rate slow increases. Sharpshooter’s weapon-damage bonus decreases and its movement-speed penalty increases.

How to adapt: For item-dependent testing, compare the changed bonuses and penalties in the situations where you use each item; the notes do not establish an item ranking or replacement.
