The reviewed default is melee skirmisher. An alternative is spell and weapon hybrid. These are tactical interpretations of the kit, not official roles or measured win-rate rankings.
The October patch changed Riposte follow-up to immobilize plus parry prevention; do not describe it as a stun. His ultimate has an invulnerable window.

Ability targets
The default target for eligible single-target imbues is ability 1, Disengaging Sigil. Item eligibility still takes precedence: Echo Shard cannot reset an ultimate, charge items apply automatically, and global upgrades affect all eligible abilities.
Item direction
Use these as candidates for the stated path. The planner chooses compatible upgrades, accounts for owned components and reserves room for the lineup response.
Playing against Apollo
Avoid feeding Riposte; use spacing and control after its defensive window.
A partial enemy lineup cannot establish lane assignments, enemy purchases or who is ahead. Supply those details in the planner where supported, and reconsider the plan as the match changes.
